The Night Before (initially in production as X-Mas) is an upcoming American Christmas comedy film directed by Jonathan Levine and written by Levine, Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter, and Ariel Shaffir and produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. The film stars Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anthony Mackie, and is about an annual reunion of three childhood friends on Christmas Eve.
Principal photography began on August 11, 2014, in New York City. Good Universe and Point Grey Pictures are producing the film which Columbia Pictures will release on November 20, 2015.
Plot[]
Fourteen years prior, Ethan's (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) parents passed away on Christmas Eve. His two best friends, Isaac (Seth Rogen) and Chris (Anthony Mackie), have been with him in support on this night by having an annual tradition of going out on Christmas Eve. However, because Isaac is going to be a father and Chris has become famous, all three decide to have one last Christmas Eve out in New York City.
