Admission is a 2013 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Paul Weitz and starring Tina Fey and Paul Rudd. The film was released in the United States and Canada on March 22, 2013. It is an adaptation of a novel by Jean Hanff Korelitz, also called Admission.

Straight-laced Princeton University admissions officer Portia Nathan is caught off-guard when she makes a recruiting visit to an alternative high school overseen by her former college classmate, the free-wheeling John Pressman. With her vast experience with the coaching, consoling, and criticism involving Princeton University's admission, she is caught off guard when Pressman requests that she pay a visit to the affable Quest School at which he teaches and partly looks over. After exposing Portia to some of the more outspoken and freewheeling Quest students' impressions of college, he takes her to meet the interesting and rather unconventional Jeremiah Balakian who is a child prodigy. Later, Portia's longtime boyfriend Mark breaks up with her, after complications involving the pregnancy of one of his English coworkers. After some awkward and romantic scenes with Pressman she arranges for Jeremiah to visit Princeton. Portia had a secret pregnancy when she was younger and made an adoption plan, and is convinced by Pressman that Jeremiah is possibly her son. Eventually, Jeremiah's miserable transcript is read, and he is deemed unfit to attend. However, Portia, in an act that greatly dangers her position, allows Jeremiah entrance into the school, knowing that Princeton cannot reveal such scandal.

She is then asked to leave Princeton which makes her realize what she wants in life. Later, when she tries to reveal to Jeremiah that she could be his biological mother, she finds out that there was a mistake in reading his birth certificate. She appears at the adoption agency, trying to locate her son, where she describes her life in different perspective than she was living so far. When asked on how would she feel to meet her actual son she replies that she would feel "nervous, but lucky". Movie ends with a scene where she reads mail response from her son who says he is not yet ready to meet her and Pressman tells her that she is on waiting list.
