This is the first holiday themed film from the prolific writer-director; and also adapted from his play of the same name. This is the seventeenth film by Perry. It will be released in theaters December 13, 2013. This is the seventh Madea film in the Madea franchise. It was released in theatres on December 13, 2013.


Pistol-packing grandma, Mabel "Madea" Simmons (Tyler Perry) gets coaxed into helping her niece Eileen (Anna Maria Horsford) pay her daughter Lacey (Tika Sumpter) a surprise visit in the country for Christmas, but the biggest surprise is what they'll find when they arrive. As the small, rural town prepares for its annual Christmas Jubilee, new secrets are revealed and old relationships are tested while Madea dishes her own brand of Christmas Spirit to all.
